SAMAntha WIlliams

I was born and raised in Dartmouth, Devon. I worked in the farming community from my teens until my early 20's, and then moved into highway maintenance; operating a vast range of machinery throughout the industry.  After a few years I started at May Gurney in the water board sector, again as a operator of machinery, mainly Tractors and diggers. Within a short space of time being with them I became a charge hand with a crew of my own. I gained my HGV licence amongst a number of other tickets during my time there.  In my late twenties I moved onto groundworks, demolition and recycling, working for a couple of local company's. I enjoyed this sector immensely and after years of experience became a specialist in this field.  In 2019  I decided to start up on my own and KT Clarke Groundworks Ltd was born. The company has continued to expand along with my customer base working with a large number of builders and construction companies across the SouthWest of England.

I first met Jason and Samantha Williams in 2015 when I was working with them on their property renovation and self build project in Stoke Fleming, and in 2021 we went into partnership together. KJ Crushing & Recycling is an exciting new venture for us.  I wanted to be able expand the number of services I could offer to my clients within the groundworks business, and the concept of crushing rubble onsite, and then recycling this as usable aggregate onsite was one I knew would be in high demand in Devon, Cornwall and across the SouthWest.   We have already worked on a number of large projects and look forward to our business growing over the coming years.

My background after University was in Technical Sales travelling into Northern Europe and around the UK. I was very used to wearing overalls and a hard hat as I spent most of my time talking and selling to industrial companies and corporations such as Steel Plants, Refineries, Cement works, Power Stations and even the Royal Mint. Whilst working I also gained a post graduate diploma in Business Management at Loughborough University.  I stopped travelling abroad when we had our children and I began working with my husband for his Company where I run the admin / finance side of the business, although I still enjoy the customer contact and sales side of the business too when it allows!

After visiting Dartmouth for many years our family made the permanent move from Derbyshire in 2015 to Stoke Fleming to live by the sea. We have always loved renovating properties which we started in Derbyshire & updated our first property here (now a holiday let that we rent). I then managed a substantial self-build project which we lived in for 3 years before moving to Strete ready for our current project. This is how we first met & became firm friends with Kez Clarke, who completed the groundworks at our first property, and demolished & prepared the ground for our self-build project.

With Kez's vast skills and knowledge for all things groundworks and diggers along with my technical sales and admin background I am excited and looking forward to a new challenge with KJ Crushing and Recycling Ltd.
